Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Adventures Around Skye Private Tours!
These Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) govern your booking and participation in our private tours and experiences. Please ensure you read them carefully before booking. By making a booking with us, you are agreeing to comply with these terms.
These T&Cs help us provide you with the best experience we can. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know before you make your booking at tours@adventuresaroundskye.com.
1. Company Information
Adventures Around Skye Tours is based on the Isle of Skye, and we provide private guided tours for up to 7 passengers.
2. Guiding Fees
| Service | Rate |
| Driver Guide and vehicle for a Full Day Tour (up to 8 hours) | £575 |
Additional hours can be discussed and will cost £50 per hour.
Any decision to extend the tour on the day will be agreed upon by the Driver Guide and the guests, but remains at the Driver Guide’s discretion. Additional hours beyond those agreed/paid for will have a £50 per-hour fee, invoiced after the tour.
Entrance fees for paid venues, events, or attractions are additional and not included in the cost. We will cover any car parking charges.
3. Booking & Cancellation Policy
A private tour date is secured once a 25% deposit is made. This is a confirmed booking. If a confirmed booking is cancelled, then the following charges will apply.
| Cancellation Time | Non-recoverable Charge |
| At any point after confirming your tour | 25% of the total fee |
| 14 Days Notice or Less | 50% of the total fee |
| 7 Days Notice or Less | 75% of the total fee |
| 48 Hours Notice or Less | 100% of the total fee |
We recommend arranging appropriate travel, medical, and cancellation insurance at the time of booking. This may allow you to claim back costs mentioned in the event of a cancellation.
We are not responsible for cancellations due to unscheduled closures by third-party suppliers/events, e.g. ferry/cruise ship cancellations or accommodation providers.
If, for any unforeseen reason, we need to cancel your tour, we will attempt to offer an alternative date, or provide a 100% refund and attempt to arrange an alternative guide.
4. Insurance & Liability
Your Skye Tour Guide is covered by public liability insurance. Any vehicle used is covered by Hire and Reward insurance. This does not cover your personal travel issues or costs.
Participation in our day tours is at your own risk.
All participants are strongly advised to hold comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellations, delays, loss or damage to belongings, medical expenses, and any activities included in the tour.
The company accepts no liability for injury, accidents, loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings. Guests are responsible for safeguarding their valuables.
5. Travel in Scotland
UK law requires all occupants of a moving vehicle to wear seatbelts and forbids smoking in any private hire vehicle.
Failure to abide by these laws may result in cancellation of the tour at the driver’s discretion, with no refund.
6. Children on Tour
Unfortunately, we do not take children under the age of 12 on tour. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times during a tour.
7. Walking and Mobility
Some stops or walking routes may be uneven, steep, muddy, or slippery underfoot, especially in wet weather. We recommend sturdy, waterproof footwear and a reasonable level of fitness.
Any walks are optional. Guests who prefer not to walk may remain with or near the vehicle.
Please contact us with any mobility concerns prior to booking.
8. Vehicle Accessibility
Our vehicles are not wheelchair accessible and do not have ramps or lifts. However, we are happy to accommodate guests who use a foldable wheelchair or walker and can board the vehicle, which is roughly 12–14 inches (300mm–350mm) from the ground.
If you have accessibility concerns, please contact us prior to booking.
9. Luggage Policy
Our vehicles have limited luggage space. Please discuss your luggage needs in advance. Large or bulky items may not be accepted unless pre-arranged.
10. Weather in Scotland
Tours will not be cancelled due to inclement weather. Suitable clothing should be worn as we will be out and about in all kinds of weather.
In the unusual event of an official weather warning, the Guide will discuss options with you.
11. Zoom Consultation & Route Planning
A Zoom Consultation to discuss your Skye day tour is part of the service we provide. If we are unable to reach an agreement on a date or if you are booking within seven days of the tour, we may send a detailed questionnaire instead.
As much as we can discuss tour wishes in advance, no location is guaranteed.
12. Force Majeure
The company will not be held liable for failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to:
- Acts of God
- Extreme or hazardous weather
- Natural disasters
- Government restrictions or changes in law
- Pandemic-related disruptions
- Civil unrest, strikes, or blockades
- Vehicle breakdowns
- Any other unforeseen or unavoidable events
In the event of such circumstances, Adventures Around Skye Tours reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule any tour. Where possible, alternative dates or a refund will be offered at our discretion.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know before you make your booking at tours@adventuresaroundskye.com.
